Euan Macdonald

CEO / Creative Director

Euan Macdonald has been at the forefront of computer generated imagery development for the past 20 years, holding pivotal roles in the film, visual effects, and gaming industries.

Prior to founding SiXiTS, Euan was one of the key pipeline architects for the 500+ artist studio, ImageMovers Digital, the Disney Studios/Robert Zemeckis collaboration located in Novato, California. Prior to that, Euan was the Head of Computer Graphics at The Orphanage VFX studio, charged with overseeing CG artists and developing innovative workflows and techniques.

At Electronic Arts in Vancouver, as Senior Technical Art Director, Euan applied his expertise in film production-quality computer graphics to the next generation titles produced by the one of the leading game developers in the world.

His previous stint at Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), George Lucas’s visual effects company, made him eminently suited for the task. In his position as Digital Effects Supervisor, he worked on numerous productions including Dragonheart, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, Star Wars: Episode One, and Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban. During his tenure at ILM, which began in 1993, he also made significant contributions to the design and implementation of core parts of the infrastructure and pipeline, optimizing them for use in multiple productions.

In addition to his extensive media background, from 1998 to 2003 Euan served as president and co-founder of ATOLLO, overseeing all aspects of the award-winning construction toy that was distributed worldwide.

Nathanial Hunter

COO / Creative Director

For the last 17 years, Nathaniel has produced entertainment media in feature films, television, commercials, games, and software.

Most recently he was a lead technical director at ImageMovers Digital, where he was instrumental in bringing the cinematic vision of Academy Award-winning director, Robert Zemeckis, to the screen in Disney’s A Christmas Carol.

Gareth Jones

Studio Technical Director

Gareth obtained a PhD in 3D biomedical graphics and worked in research before deciding that it didn’t pay enough and moved into 3D video games. He has worked on a variety of games including Warzone 2100 for Eidos, Grand Prix 4 for Infogrames and Need for Speed Most Wanted (Xbox 360 launch) and Skate 1,2 and 3 for EA in a variety of roles including lead programmer.

Gareth has wide-ranging coding experience on consoles and PC in areas such as pipeline coding and AI and recently has been concentrating on mobile platforms.

Doug Chiang

Production Designer & Creative Consultant

Doug is an American movie designer and artist. During the late 1980s he worked at various production studios including Rhythm and Hues.

Chiang eventually joined Industrial Light and Magic as a creative director where he worked on films such as Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Forrest Gump. During the late 1990s Chiang served as design director for Lucasfilm on Star Wars Episode I and Star Wars Episode II.

Afterwards, he was a production designer on Robert Zemeckis’ The Polar Express. Outside of film, he collaborated with author Orson Scott Card on an illustrated science fiction book called Robota. In 2004, Chiang co-founded Ice Blink Studios and worked for Zemeckis on Beowulf. Chiang then went on to be VP of Disneys ImageMovers Digital to work with Zemeckis again as production designer for A Christmas Carol, and Mars Needs Moms.
